How this list of the best perfumes in the UAE was built
Every "best perfumes" list is somebody's taste until it is measured. This one is measured. We took the fragrances MOJ makes inspired readings of, looked up how many times the UAE searches for each original name every month in Semrush's UAE database on October 15, 2026, and kept the ten with the highest numbers that had at least one size available on our store the same day. No opinions, no sponsorships, no "editor's pick". If the country is asking for it by name, it is on the list; if we could not sell you a bottle today, it is not, which is why Dior Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel, both searched more than most of the ten, are missing: our readings of them were not available when we checked. All ten live in our designer inspired perfumes collection.
Two things this ranking is not. It is not a ranking of scents, so for which notes the UAE prefers, oud over musk over rose, read our guide to the most popular scent in Dubai. And it is not a claim that our versions are the originals. Each entry below describes the original first, with the perfumer and launch year where two or more independent sources agree and the price at an approved UAE retailer, then the MOJ reading, which follows the original's published structure and is labelled as ours on every bottle.
The ten, ranked by UAE search demand
1. Aventus: the most searched perfume in the UAE
Twelve thousand one hundred searches a month, more than Baccarat Rouge 540 and Libre put together. Creed Aventus launched in 2010, created by Olivier and Erwin Creed with perfumer Jean-Christophe Herault, and it is the best-selling fragrance in the house's history: bergamot, blackcurrant and apple over the famous pineapple heart, on birch, musk and oakmoss. The Corsican blackcurrant is a nod to Napoleon's birthplace, and the whole thing is built as a portrait of imperial confidence. At Ounass the 100 ml is about AED 1,600, and Creed's own boutique in The Dubai Mall will let you smell it first.
Our Aventus follows the same smoky pineapple arc. It is the bottle people walk into a MOJ store asking for by name, which is why it is the one most often not on the shelf: no size was available when we checked on October 19, and it is priced from AED 39 for 30 ml when it is. Interviews, first dates and any room you want to own; the full Creed story is in our guide to the best Creed perfumes.
- Top: bergamot, black currant, apple, lemon, pink pepper
- Heart: pineapple, patchouli, jasmine
- Base: birch, musk, oak moss, cedarwood, ambroxan
2. Baccarat Rouge: the scent of every mall in the country
Baccarat Rouge 540 is the fragrance that made saffron famous outside the Gulf. Francis Kurkdjian created it in 2014 for the 250th anniversary of the Baccarat crystal house and released it widely in 2015, and in the decade since it has become the most recognised smell in any Dubai food court: saffron and jasmine floating over amberwood and a mineral ambergris effect, sweetened with a fine burnt-sugar glaze. Approved UAE retailers list the eau de parfum at about AED 1,300 to 1,500 for 70 ml depending on the week.
Our Baccarat Rouge keeps the saffron, jasmine and amberwood spine. The 30 ml is available at the moment at AED 39; the larger sizes are not. It is unisex in every sense, as likely to be worn by a man in a kandura as by the woman next to him, and it is the strongest candidate on this list for a first bottle you will be asked about. Its wider family sits in our guide to the best amber perfumes.
- Top: saffron, jasmine
- Heart: amberwood, ambergris, hedione
- Base: fir resin, cedar, sugar, ambroxan, oakmoss
3. Libre: the women's fragrance the UAE asks for most
Of the ten, Libre is the one women in the UAE search for most, at 4,400 a month. It launched in August 2019, composed by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim, and the brand's claim for it is that it was the first floral lavender: lavender appears twice on Yves Saint Laurent's own pyramid, once on top with mandarin and blackcurrant and again in the heart with orange blossom and jasmine, before Madagascar vanilla, cedar and ambergris warm it. That double lavender is why it reads fresh at 9 AM and warm at 9 PM. The brand's UAE store lists the 90 ml at AED 725.
Our Libre follows the same lavender, orange blossom and vanilla structure. The 30 and 50 ml are available at the moment, from AED 39; the 100 ml is not. The office fragrance that doubles as the evening one, and the easiest gift on this list for a woman whose taste you have not yet learned. Her sister bottles are in our guide to the best YSL perfumes.
- Top: lavender, mandarin orange, black currant, petitgrain
- Heart: lavender, orange blossom, jasmine
- Base: Madagascar vanilla, musk, cedar, ambergris
4. Delina: the rose that replaced the rose
Delina launched in 2017, composed by Quentin Bisch for Parfums de Marly, and within a few years it had become the rose that women in the Gulf ask for instead of the classics: lychee and rhubarb on top, Turkish rose in the heart, cashmeran and vanilla underneath. It is sweet without being a gourmand and fresh without being a cologne, which is why it is searched 2,900 times a month here and why it is among the most asked-for bottles at UAE niche counters. Ounass and the brand's UAE site both list the 75 ml at AED 1,490.
Our Delina reads the same lychee, rose and cashmeran line, in all three sizes from AED 39. Weddings, engagements, brunch: anywhere a woman wants to be remembered for one thing and that thing is rose.
- Top: litchi, rhubarb, bergamot, black currant, nutmeg
- Heart: Turkish rose, peony, musk, petalia, vanilla
- Base: cashmeran, incense, cedar
5. D Homme Intense: the men's fragrance that gets asked about at close range
The date needs care. Dior Homme Intense first appeared in 2007, but what sells today is the 2011 re-edition by Francois Demachy, and that is the one searched 2,900 times a month here: lavender on top, Tuscan iris over ambrette and pear in the heart, Virginia cedar and vetiver underneath. It is credited with taking iris mainstream in men's perfumery, powdery and tailored, the Dior that is noticed across a dinner table rather than across a room. The 100 ml is AED 685 at UAE retailers, the cheapest men's original on this list.
Our D Homme Intense follows the 2011 edition, in all three sizes from AED 48. Dinners, dates and the cooler months from November to March; this is the pick for the man who wants to be found rather than announced, and the rest of the house is in our best Dior perfumes guide.
- Top: lavender
- Heart: iris, ambrette, pear
- Base: cedar, vetiver
6. Ombre Nomade A: the Vuitton the Gulf respects
Ombre Nomade launched in 2018 by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the master perfumer Louis Vuitton hired in 2012 to bring the house back to fragrance, and it is the one western designer oud this region takes seriously: dense agarwood built around benzoin, incense and a surprising thread of raspberry, written as a desert journey. It is priced above the rest of the Vuitton line at AED 1,820 for 100 ml on the brand's UAE store, and Vuitton sells its fragrances only in its own boutiques and website, so there is no counter to try it at.
Our Ombre Nomade A keeps the oud, raspberry and incense structure and adds saffron and birch to the opening. The 30 ml is available at the moment at AED 48; the larger sizes are not. This is the one to hand a man who already owns real oud and wants something for Eid that reads expensive without reading traditional, and it sits in context in our guide to the best oud perfumes.
- Top: raspberry, saffron
- Heart: rose, geranium, incense
- Base: agarwood (oud), amberwood, benzoin, birch
7. Imagination: the citrus that survives a Dubai afternoon
Imagination launched in 2021, also by Cavallier Belletrud, and it is the fragrance Louis Vuitton now leads its men's line with: citron, Calabrian bergamot and orange over Tunisian neroli, ginger and cinnamon, on Chinese black tea, a generous dose of Ambrox, guaiac wood and olibanum. The tea is what makes it; without it this would be another clean citrus amber, with it the drydown keeps projecting quietly long after simpler fresh scents have gone. AED 1,440 for 100 ml on the brand's UAE store.
Our Imagination follows the tea and Ambrox spine and is the one Vuitton reading we also sell in 200 ml, because it is the one people finish. It sits in our premium tier at AED 88 for 30 ml; the 30, 100 and 200 ml are available at the moment, the 50 ml is not. If you want one bottle for the whole UAE summer, this is the strongest case in the guide; the rest of the house is in our best Louis Vuitton perfumes guide.
- Top: citron, bergamot, orange
- Heart: neroli, ginger, cinnamon
- Base: black tea, ambroxan, guaiac wood, olibanum
8. Tuxedo: the dressed-up one
Tuxedo is the anchor of Le Vestiaire des Parfums, the private collection Yves Saint Laurent launched in November 2015 with five fragrances named after the founder's signature garments, and it was composed by Juliette Karagueuzoglou: violet leaf, coriander and bergamot on top, rose and black pepper in the heart, patchouli, Bourbon vanilla and ambergris underneath. It is a chypre that reads like its name, sharp lapels with a soft lining, and it is searched 1,600 times a month here. The brand's UAE store lists it at AED 585 for 35 ml, AED 1,060 for 75 ml and AED 1,465 for 125 ml.
Our Tuxedo follows the green, peppery opening and the vanilla and patchouli close, in all four sizes from AED 43, and it is the only bottle on this list we sell in 200 ml for under AED 210. Formal evenings, black tie, the wedding where you are not the groom but want to be dressed like him.
- Top: violet leaf, coriander, bergamot
- Heart: rose, black pepper, lily of the valley
- Base: patchouli, Bourbon vanilla, ambergris
9. Angel Share: the cognac in a bottle
Angels' Share launched in October 2020, composed by Benoist Lapouza, and the name is the cellar term for the portion of spirit that evaporates from oak barrels as cognac ages, the share the angels are said to take. Kilian Hennessy, eighth generation of the cognac family, built the perfume on real cognac oil before oak, cinnamon and tonka melt into vanilla, praline and sandalwood. Kilian itself lists it among its top sellers and the UAE searches for it 1,600 times a month. Ounass lists the 50 ml at AED 1,080 and the 100 ml at AED 1,605, and Kilian keeps perfume bars at The Dubai Mall and Dubai Hills Mall.
Our Angel Share follows the cognac, oak and praline structure, in all three sizes from AED 54. Warm, boozy and softly nutty rather than sugary, the pick for cool evenings from November onward and for anyone who thinks they do not like sweet perfume.
- Top: cognac
- Heart: cinnamon, tonka bean, oak, hedione
- Base: vanilla, praline, sandalwood, candied almond
10. La Vie Belle: the most gifted women's fragrance in the country
La Vie Est Belle launched in 2012, credited to Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion and Olivier Polge, and it is the fragrance that made iris sweet: Lancome's own description names iris pallida from France, patchouli from Bali and a gourmand vanilla, and the common reading opens with blackcurrant and pear, puts iris, jasmine and orange blossom in the heart and lands on praline, vanilla, tonka and patchouli. Lancome runs no UAE online store and Ounass carries no Lancome, so the reference price is Faces, at AED 670 for 100 ml, which makes it the most affordable original in this guide. Eight flankers followed; the one the search is for is the original eau de parfum with no suffix.
Our La Vie Belle is built on that 2012 original, in all three sizes from AED 39. If you suspect you already know how it smells from every lift in Dubai, you do, and this is the version to buy first.
- Top: black currant, pear
- Heart: iris, jasmine, orange blossom
- Base: praline, vanilla, patchouli, tonka bean
Which of the best perfumes in the UAE to buy first
If you are buying for yourself, start with the one whose original you have already smelled on someone and liked; search volume is the country's taste, not yours. If you are buying for a man and know nothing else, Aventus is the safest bet in the UAE by a factor of three, with D Homme Intense the choice for a quieter man and Imagination for one who lives in the heat. For a woman, Libre is the broadest, Delina the most romantic and La Vie Belle the one she probably already recognises. For someone whose gender you are not shopping by, Baccarat Rouge is the compliment magnet and Angel Share the one for winter. The men's half of the catalogue is in our perfumes for men collection, the women's half in our perfumes for women collection.
One practical note for the UAE. Seven of the ten originals cost more than AED 1,000 for the size most people buy, and five of the ten cost more than AED 1,400; only Dior Homme Intense, Libre and La Vie Est Belle come in under AED 750. The sensible order is to try the MOJ reading at AED 39 to 88 first, wear it for a month, then decide whether the original earns its price on your skin. Plenty of customers end up with both, and that is probably the smartest split.
