The Art Of Layering

Layering is how the Gulf has always worn fragrance: oil, then spray, then bakhoor smoke in the clothes. These sets make the technique foolproof by pairing scents that are composed to be worn together.

How layering works

Start with the deeper scent as your base, usually the muskier or woodier of the pair, then apply the brighter one over it. The base extends wear time and the top gives the first impression. Done right, the combination lasts longer than either scent alone and smells like something nobody can name, because it is yours.

A simple starting rule: keep one note in common between layers, vanilla over amber, rose over oud, citrus over musk. Each set on this page already follows it, so you can skip the trial and error.
